Tips to Apply a Nail lacquer effectively

I usually love to apply nail lacquers, as it gives a nice boost of energy and happiness to see nicely manicured nails while working on my computer whole day. But, I have to confess I'd been a retard in applying nail lacquers effectively. I don't have usual patience to sit and spend 2-3 minutes carefully painting every nail and avoid any cuticle painting. Sometimes I do create a mess and because of all these problems I usually drop off applying simple nail lacquer too (Forget the nail art design).

However, recently while getting my pedicure and manicure done at Jean Claude Beguine Salon, I learnt an interesting way to apply nail lacquers, which can possibly help a lot in avoiding painting my cuticles. I tried to practice the technique a couple of times myself and somehow succeeded in getting my nails painted easily, effectively and flawlessly.

Below is the technique and steps:

1) Never overload your nail lacquer brush. Always make it a point to get rid of the excess. I've seen girls at my college hostel taking lots of products and trust on spreading it on the nail, the way a cook spreads “dosa” on “tawa”. If you are a follower of that technique, I'd suggest you drop it off now. Just load the brush with decent quantity that could ensure a smooth application

2) Start from the center of the nail and apply lacquer in to-and-fro motion to get nice decent coverage. Since your brush is decently loaded, you get better control over the coverage you want to get.

3) Most of the times when we apply nail lacquers; the cuticles with maximum possibility to get painted are on the sides outside your nails. So below is the trick to avoid that. I am showing for my ring finger here.

4) Hold the finger in between your middle finger and pinky, and stretch the area so that your cuticles are pulled away from your nails like so:
Ignore the left over nail lacquer on my nails.
5) Apply the lacquer to the sides, again with minimally loaded brush.

6) See the result :)
Ignore the streaky application. That's coz of crappy brush from Streetwear Mauve Magic nail lacquer
If you are wondering how to do the same for thumb then you can do it in following way:

PS: Always ensure that the nail lacquers on the fingers you are using to pull the cuticles away of a particular finger, have dried up, otherwise you might end up creating bigger mess!

I hope this technique helps you in getting better command over your nail lacquer application! :)

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review, Swatches

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review I began to use Neutrogena brand long back, when I was in US. The first product I bought of this brand was a liquid foundation, which was my first foundation of all. And, as expected I chose the wrong shade and had to throw it away. The second thing I bought sometime back was this Neutrogena Moistureshine LipGloss , which apparently happens to be my first tinted lipgloss too, as before this I was used to only lipsticks or lip balms. It took me a while to get used to the concept of glosses. I bought the shade 04 Glimmer: Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss Like usual glosses, it comes
