Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts - Review

Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts

The best way to spend four hours of waiting period in Dubai transit is to do shopping. In all the shopping I did there, I bought this particular lotion as well. The main reasons behind buying this lotion were:

1) I wanted to try Olay as a brand as I’d heard a lot of good stories about it.
2) I wanted a light moisturizing face lotion that has SPF, UVA/UVB protection and could be worn easily below my foundation for day wear.

Price: $10

Quantity: 30 ml

What does Olay say about its Natural White lotion?

Olay Natural White Lotion with mulberry leaf extracts nourishes your skin with nutrients for healthy looking natural fairness that glows. Its formula with triple nutrient system - Vitamins B3, pro-B5 & E nourishes your skin to reduce the appearance of dark spots and dullness for a healthy looking natural fairness that glows. It also has SPF 24 that protects skin from the harmful UVA/B rays.
For something light on the skin, the lotion is formulated to get quickly absorbed in the skin and is suitable for combination to oily skin types.

Usage Guidance:

Use twice a day on a cleansed face and neck.
Apply a small amount all over face and massage gently in circular motion. Lotion is recommended for people with combination to oily skin.

My experience with Olay Natural White Lotion:

Pros:

1) All that is described by the brand i.e. it provides UV protection and has SPF. Not that I got to test it much, in almost cloudy weather of Bangalore. But since it says it has SPF, I agree to the fact.

2) The lotion has quite balanced consistency. It is neither too thick, nor too runny and just perfect. It can be easily squeezed off the bottle.

3) You only need small quantity to cover your face and neck. I take pea sized amount of the product and it is enough for my face.

Cons:

1) It does moisturize my skin well. However, it failed to be anywhere around lightweight. I feel it to be quite sticky and oily for my oily/combination skin. I think Olay should re-consider what they mean by "for oily/combination skin" before they recommend it for this skin type.

2) I think I absolutely misunderstood the whitening magic about the product. I thought it to give a radiant skin from within, or some thing related to giving skin some glow. Well, it does impart "whitening" to my skin. Now, you might be wondering why I kept it as a con. It is a con for me because the whitening is not skin deep at all. It just gives a ghastly whitish cast on my skin, along with a greasy feeling that I simply don't have any option but to wash my face off, or cover the application with something else. I can not use this lotion on itself over my face, whatsoever.

Can you see greasy light whitening?
Overall verdict: This could be a good moisturizing lotion for people with dry skin. But, I feel it to be an absolute no no to people having oily/combination skin. However, I seriously don’t know what to do with the whitish cast and white particles.
Since, I find it so difficult to carry this lotion over my skin; I use it in my pre-invented way that has been successful so far in using all these unused lotions for me. I mix this lotion with some lacto calamine to subdue the oiliness, greasiness and that horrible whitish cast and apply it over my face. After that I apply compact powder. So far, this technique has helped me a lot to use this.

Rating: 2/5 (2 points for SPF and UVA/UVB protection)

Availability: Olay natural white cream is available on Amazon

Will I buy it again?: Absolutely not!

Note: According to PETA, Olay tests its products on animals. However, this fact does not change my honest opinion and experience with the product that I share with you here.

Syoss Professional Performance Repair Therapy Shampoo - Review

Syoss Professional Performance Repair Therapy Shampoo During my visits to Germany, I spend a lot of time watching TV commercials, because of the only reason that I can somehow understand bits and pieces of them. I wasn't intending to buy any huge bottles, during my last trip, but I was so much intrigued by Syoss's continuous ads on the television, that I decided to give it a shot. Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review, Swatches

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review I began to use Neutrogena brand long back, when I was in US. The first product I bought of this brand was a liquid foundation, which was my first foundation of all. And, as expected I chose the wrong shade and had to throw it away. The second thing I bought sometime back was this Neutrogena Moistureshine LipGloss , which apparently happens to be my first tinted lipgloss too, as before this I was used to only lipsticks or lip balms. It took me a while to get used to the concept of glosses. I bought the shade 04 Glimmer: Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss Like usual glosses, it comes
