Tips:
Illamasqua Skin Base foundation is the ultimate ‘skin realism’ foundation and provides a medium coverage. For a flawless finish Illamasqua recommends to apply Skin Base with the Foundation Brush or Highlighter Brush for buffing and is versatile enough to apply with your fingers. It also works beautifully as a liquid concealer, highlighter and contour.

My experience with Illamasqua Skin Base foundation:
I have oily-combination skin and my skin tone keeps on changing with seasons. I get more tanned and a few shades darker in summers, whereas in winters my skin tone becomes fairer. The change is always too drastic and I can never rely on one particular foundation shade always. Illamasqua skin finish S10 is a shade a bit darker to my current skin tone and I believe the difference is because I went to MAC in summers when my skin was tanned, and now I am a few shades lighter than that time.
Nevertheless, while trying this foundation initially, I applied it as it is, and topped it up with a lighter shade compact powder to make the finish look even and natural without making me look tanned. After trying it for few days, I shifted back to my usual "Foundation mixing" mode to get my perfect shade by mixing this with another lighter foundation I have. I've been mixing foundations since quite some time now and hence have got some level of perfection in it. :)
Now, coming to Illamasqua skin base foundation, it has very light texture. It is a liquid foundation but the consistency is not runny at all. You can easily control the amount of product you want to take out and would never end with extra product (unless you calculate wrong!).
The most interesting thing about this foundation is that, despite being light weight, it gives a good coverage. I have some spots on my face, and I usually rely on a concealer to hide them. But, while using this foundation, I didn't need to use concealer for that purpose at all. I do however needed concealer to hide my under eye dark circles.
Illamasqua Skin base foundation stayed on me for 6-7 hours without getting patchy at all after which I did get a bit of oil around my nose and chin. I simply blot that off, apply the compact and ta da I am done! The amazing thing was that this foundation didn't get patchy on my face even after I had got sweat on my forehead and cheeks. The climate had been quite humid here since past few days with all the rains and temperature variation and I usually sweat a lot especially on my face. But this Skin base foundation sustained it quite well, which really impressed me a lot.

Below are some of the likes and dislikes that I've experienced from this Illamasqua Skin base foundation
Likes:
1) Extremely light texture.
2) It blends like a dream. Though being a liquid foundation, the consistency is quite balanced and one can easily control the flow and blending of this foundation.
3) Even though it has light texture, it gives a medium to full coverage.
4) It sustained the humidity and intense perspiration on my face and didn't get blotchy at all.
5) It stays on my oily-combination skin for good long 6-7 hours without getting patchy.
6) I've not experienced any allergic reactions or break outs from this.
Dislikes:
1) The fact that it is not available all around the world in stores. You can order it from Illamasqua's official website.
2) It contains parabens.
2) It contains parabens.
Overall verdict:
I really like Illamasqua Skin base foundation for its light texture and good coverage. I'd definitely love to buy the product that suits my shade perfectly. The shade I got S10 had more of orange to it and it made me look a lot tanned. I think I might consult a MUA to know my current shade again and then get the lighter one that'd blend well into my skin.
