This is my first lipstick from Faces-Canada cosmetics, and
when I saw the packaging, I was quite impressed. However, when I saw the
bullet, I was a bit surprised seeing it all white in color (I mean white
lipstick!). However, it didn't turn out what it looked like (Thank goodness,
can't imagine wearing something white on my lips!), and is actually true to its
name – “Barely there”. Its a translucent glossy lipstick.

My experience with
this lipstick:
I have medium pigmented lips, which keep on changing color
for no apparent reason - sometimes they look pink, sometimes white and
sometimes even grey! I love to sport colors on my lips and for that matter even
my lip balms are tinted. When I tried using this lipstick, I felt it more like
a clear lip balm - just with a bit higher level of staying power on my lips. The
lipstick is quite moisturizing and gives a soft glossy finish to my lips, which
can work well with smoky eyes, provided you add a touch of color from your
gloss. I've also tried using this lipstick over my bright lipsticks like Rimmel London's Color show off lipstick in "Shocking Pink" shade, to tone
down the color a bit and bring a soft shine to its otherwise matte finish, and
it has worked well there.
Below is a list of likes and dislikes that I've felt about
this lipstick:
Likes:
1) Comes in a nice sturdy packaging with a glossy cover and
secured locking system.
2) The lipstick is quite moisturizing to my lips.
3) The texture is pretty smooth and it glides easily on my
lips.
4) I like the floral fragrance it has.
5) Quite ok for the price and quantity.
Dislikes:
The lipstick is basically like a lip balm in a lipstick
packaging. It is transparent, brings a soft whitish glaze to the lips, and the only
difference I've found between this and a clear lip balm is that the staying
power of this lipstick is more than a lip balm. It stays on my lips for around
1.5 hours. Though tricky to use on your looks, you can still fit it in to
subdue your bright colors and bring some shine on your matte lips (if you don't
want to use gloss!)
Overall verdict:
I like the packaging, texture, smoothness, faint floral
fragrance and moisturizing attributes of this lipstick. I'd like to try more
lipsticks from Faces now, in different shades. As far as this lipstick is
concerned, I don't see why one should get it, when the same thing can be achieved from a lip balm. I think you can give it a pass.
