Lancôme’s Ombre Absolue duo– B01 Paris Croisette: Radiant Smoothing Eye-ShadowDuo - Divine Hold
I usually don't like wearing too much of shimmers and glitters, however I do still love to glam up a bit and shine a little on special occasions like performing live on stage. I had to play piano and also sing a song a couple of days back on a stage show here, and the occasion definitely gave me the excuse to get glammed up a bit more than usual. However, after using this eyeshadow duo for my eye makeup on that occasion, I loved the get up and look so much that I won't mind trying it up for any other night time parties as well. All you should know is how to make colors compliment each other, and what little to add to make the duo work perfectly for you. Check out more details below:

My experience with
this duo:
When I got this duo, I was a bit confused about the colors
offered in it. I somehow couldn't imagine using the two shades on my eyes
together. The look sounded too cool and I always felt the colors would wash out
my face. However, with a bit of imagination, and trying the shades on the back
of my hands I thought of a particular look, which rocked quite well for me when
I sported the same for the stage show. I got lots of compliments…of course for
my piano playing and singing, but I also received many compliments on my look
as well. The eyeshadows worked beautifully in creating the perfect glamorous
look I needed, even though it didn't look OTT at all. The applicators however are ok, and might come useful for touch ups, when you can't carry eyeshadow brushes everywhere. Let us check out what
this duo has to offer, and my likes and dislikes about it:
Likes:
1) The duo comes in a classic black Lancôme’s case with
glossy finish - and Lancôme’s signature rose on it. The case is quite sturdy
and the locking system is pretty secure. So, you ensure that your duo is opened
only when you want, and not otherwise creating any breaking or spilling
anywhere in your purse
2) The duo comes with a wide compact mirror on one side,
which is perfect for any kinds of touch ups.
3) I like the way the eyeshadows are packed. There is a
strong and secure plastic cover on the eyeshadows with a holder for sponge
applicators as well. It perfectly ensures that your mirror doesn't get spoilt
from the eyeshadow dust.
4) Coming to the eyeshadows, the shades being offered by
this duo are both shimmery. One shade is metallic silver shade loaded with
shimmers. and the other is light bluish-green, again with lots of shimmers. The
eyeshadows have quite smooth texture, are easy to apply and get blended easily.
What I like most about these eyeshadows is that despite having shimmers, I
didn't experience any fall outs from them. Also, after a couple of hours, I
never saw weird patches of shimmer on my eyes. The eyeshadows did fade a little
because of all the running and sweating behind stage, but still looked pretty
decent on my eyes. There was no creasing at all, even after 6 years of wear.
5) I like the fact that these eyeshadows are a bit sheer on
first application, but can be built to create the desired intensity. I like
shimmer eyeshadows to be like that, because no one wants to look like a disco
ball in one go, and such kind of coverage and texture gives a lot of control on
how you want your eye makeup to look like.
Dislikes:
1) Ingredients contain parabens! :(
2) Lancôme tests its products on animals. :( :(
3) These two shades can be worn all on themselves, if you
have fair skin. But, if you are medium and warm skin toned like me, then you
need a bit of extra stuff to make it work perfectly for you. Check out my eye
makeup below and a quick tutorial too for the same (which you can follow if you
like the look!)
Overall: I love
the texture, coverage packaging and staying power of these eyeshadows. Would
definitely love to try other duos from this range.

Below is the eye makeup look I tried using these eyeshadows, which was quite glam yet subtle at the same time:
How I did it:
1) Apply the light bluish-green eyeshadow all over the lids.
2) Take a clean fluffy brush to smooth any harsh edges.
3) Take a matte brown eyeshadow, and blend it into the crease and outer V.
4) Take the silver shimmer eyeshadow from this duo and apply a little on the center of the lids to get a nice dimension.
5) Use same silver eyeshadow on the area around your tearducts.
6) Take a small eyeshadow brush, or even the thinner sponge tip applicator, dip in the light bluish green eyeshadow and bring down the outer third of lower lashline.
7) Take the silver eyeshadow and apply the same on the inner part of lower lashline.
8) Take a black eyeliner, and tightline your eyes using it.
9) Apply lots of mascara and if possible false lashes as well ... ;;)
10) Apply your fav bronzer on the cheeks, and a lipgloss on lips and you are ready to rock!! :D
