Room decorating ideas
When it comes to home décor, I have completely different choices as compared to my mom’s. She likes to give more traditional and royal touch to the room, whereas I am more into giving a sleek and classic look. She loves everything with lots of detail work in it, whereas I like more simple and whole designs.
However, there are certain things we both agree to, that can give any room a beautiful, warm and cozy look and brighten it up in an instant. Here, have a look at certain basics, I feel one must invest on when it comes to decorating your home:
1)
Lighting and Lamp shades:

No matter how well you design the interiors
of your house, if the lighting is inadequate and poor, even the best things
fail to make an impact. On the contrary, I have seen even the simplest of
interiors glow up in all their glory under a gorgeous chandelier or lovely lamp
shades.

Wall décor:

Wall hangings can easily make or break the
whole look of your house. In my view, your wall décor actually showcases your
personality in what you choose for your walls and how you place them. I am more inclined towards
paintings, and those too huge ones. I like to keep my each wall simple with
just one painting to cover it up. However, my mom loves to showcase little pieces
of art, strategically placing them to brighten up the walls and make them livelier
while coordinating them with the furniture and other décor stuffs.
One easiest and quickest trick to instantly
beautify your room and get a fresh and relaxed feeling, is to get a gorgeous
vase and fill it with beautiful flowers. Nothing is better if you can get fresh
flowers regularly. However, these days you can get amazing varieties in
artificial flowers as well, and you can stock them up, arrange and place them
in your vase easily.

Handicrafts:
I’ve always felt that a couple of
handicrafts definitely give your living room a luxurious touch. One can
certainly never have enough, especially when you are living in India. Each
state has its own special origin in handicrafts and I always feel that it is a
boon for people like me who get to travel so much. I never forget to buy a hand
crafted souvenir typical of that place whenever I visit it.

As important as is the lighting in a room,
so is its flooring. Many times I’ve seen how magically the whole look of a room
gets transformed, just by a minor change in the flooring. Be it the placement
of a carpet or a mat, or even the inclusion of wooden flooring; it definitely makes
a great impact in the statement your home can make. Investing in getting
appropriate tiles or wooden flooring is one option. However, I’ve even seen
some of my friends using false flooring or floor tile posters/stickers in their
rooms that come cheap and can work well in giving you the desired effect. So, these were some of my home décor basic
stuffs.
