Tips to Take a Perfect Selfie

Tips to Take a Perfect Selfie

When I was a kid, I was told that we live in a selfish world. However, now as I am all grown up, I see the world has become more "selfie" rather than selfish! Okay! that was a bad joke, but keeping the pun aside, today our social media is loaded with selfies of everyone (a person's picture taken by oneself!). With the aid of easy-to-use smartphones and digital cameras, we can see people featuring their selfies everywhere - home, work, on a joy ride, in aeroplane, bus, trains, cars, and even in kitchens and bathrooms.

We love ourselves, don't we? And when it comes to putting our best foot (or face!) forward to the world, a selfie can definitely mean a lot. You want to look good, because you can't blame your photographer (which is you!) if your selfie turned out to be bad! It should be perfect! As a Beauty Blogger, I've been clicking selfies since past 5 years or so, and wanted to share a few tips with you on how to get a good selfie clicked. Here they go:

  1) Face the light source:

Tips to Take a Perfect Selfie

Unless you want to click the photo of your haircut, you should
click a selfie while facing the light source. Again the trick is not to get too close to the source. e.g. if you want a click a selfie at your home and the light source for your selfie is your window, you should face it and stay just a few inches away from it. Ensure that the light is aptly balanced and distributed on your face to make it clearly visible. Too much of light can whiten out your selfie, which won't do any justice to your pretty features, unless you want to look like a LED diode.

  2) Camera Angle:

The worst selfie poses that I have seen till date, have been those where the click is done keeping the camera or phone below the shoulder level. The angle makes all the difference in making your face look younger, older, slimmer or chubbier. The best angle is to keep the camera a bit above your eye level at an arm's length distance.

  3) Makeup

Tips to Take a Perfect Selfie

If you are a Beauty Blogger, you might be aware of this fact. Our eyes have actually the world's best lens and no camera can catch any beauty that well. If you want to flaunt your new red lipstick in a selfie, you need to go a bit overboard so that the color actually shows well in the pic. You can always blot away the excess after clicking the selfie. If you are outside, ensure that you do touch ups before taking the selfie. When it comes to applying face makeup, less is always more. Avoid looking cakey by staying away from thick foundations. Use a light weight BB cream to cover your blemishes, and a good concealer to cover under eye dark circles.

 4) Pose well

While a duck pout can work well for a selfie taken in a party or girls night out,  you definitely can't make the same pose for taking a selfie at your office. When in doubt, just think about your happy thoughts and smile!

5) Use props

Tips to Take a Perfect Selfie

If you love to take selfies everywhere you go, why not spice it up using the props that are appropriate for the place? For example - wear your sunglasses while taking a selfie in outdoors during day. At kitchen, you can pose holding a knife, or a spatula, or anything that can trigger your creative side; at a cafe, hold your cup while taking the selfie! Just get innovative with your selfies and your friends are definitely gonna love you more! :)

Last but not the least, take good care of yourself to be always selfie ready. I hope the tips above help you in taking a better selfie next time. No matter how many people love your selfies, admit that you admire yourself the most. So, ensure that you have more reasons to love yourself and your selfies, by making each one perfect with time! Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review, Swatches

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review I began to use Neutrogena brand long back, when I was in US. The first product I bought of this brand was a liquid foundation, which was my first foundation of all. And, as expected I chose the wrong shade and had to throw it away. The second thing I bought sometime back was this Neutrogena Moistureshine LipGloss , which apparently happens to be my first tinted lipgloss too, as before this I was used to only lipsticks or lip balms. It took me a while to get used to the concept of glosses. I bought the shade 04 Glimmer: Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss Like usual glosses, it comes
