Review: Oriflame Narcissus Scented Hand and Nail Cream

After my pleasant experience with Cadeavera hand creme, I was hunting for a good hand cream in India, as this one was about to get over and so far is not available in India. As I was browsing through Oriflame online catalogue, I stumbled upon this particular cream which was available on discounted price at that time. I immediately ordered it, and now have been using it since past 1 month. I need to say that my experience has been quite good with the cream so far, and hence thought of reviewing it here:
Oriflame Narcissus Scented Hand and Nail Cream

What does Oriflame Narcissus Scented Hand and Nail cream claim?

Intensely nourishing Hand & Nail Cream with the alluring scent of narcissus. Enriched with Vitamin E.
Oriflame Narcissus Scented Hand and Nail Cream

Price: INR 149/- (I got it on discount)
Quantity: 50 ml

Ingredients:

Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, Urea, Sodium Citrate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Ceteareth-12, Polysorbate 20, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Parfum, Methylparaben, Citric Acid, Sodium Pca, Propylparaben, Commiphora Myrrha, Disodium Edta, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol

I was quite curious to know what exactly Narcissus is, and this is what I got from wikipedia:

Narcissus is the botanic name for a genus of mainly hardy, mostly spring-flowering, bulbs in the Amaryllis family native to Europe, North Africa, and Asia.
Source: Wikipedia

So, they are some specie of daffodils basically.

My experience with this cream so far:

Pros:

1) It has the most amazing flowery fragrance I've ever smelled so far, as it smells so natural and non-artificial. It gives the kind of fragrance; you'd get from wet flowers, which is quite different from the normal ones. I absolutely adore the smell. It is quite exotic and out of the world kinds, at least for me. You can smell the flower, the wetness of leaves and a little wild touch to this cream's fragrance.

2) It comes in a screw open lid tube, hence making it easy to apply.

3) The consistency of the cream is quite balanced. It is neither too runny, nor too thick and hence can be applied easily on my hands and around the cuticles.

4) The cream is neither sticky nor does it make my hands greasy. I can easily apply it on my hands, and start working on my keyboard without waiting for it to get absorbed.

5) Quantity is ok for the price you pay.

Cons:

1) I haven't felt much of the hydrating effects from this cream. It does hydrate, but the action is quite mild. It may be good for people who don’t have super dry skin. Since, my skin especially on my hands and feet, is somewhat hyper-thirsty for moisture, I didn't find the mild action of this cream good enough to do the job for me.

2) Average effect on nails and cuticles.

3) It contains parabens.

4) You need to find an Oriflame consultant to get your hands on this.

After Application

Rating: 3.5/5

Overall verdict: I absolutely love the smell of this cream. It reminds me of a season's first rain and how the flowers that are drenched in night's dew or rain drops would smell early morning. I am currently quite addicted to its smell and I won’t be surprised if I buy this cream again for the simple reason of its amazing fragrance.

Oh and I did some weekend shopping too!! :D

  3. hi Cali (the emoticons are not working, na?)
the cream leaves your hand pampered and beautiful indeed. can feel why it is named 'Narcissus' (mythologically it means 'in love with his own reflection') and it certainly made your skin look so good! and you make the smell sound so tempting!

  4. Hi Scarlett!! :D .yeah..donno why they have stopped working. I'll have a look at it. yeah..this cream has such an amazing smell.the effects are also good. Its just that they don't last long...especially with parched dry skin I have, I need to apply it every 2 hours, even if I've not washed me hands....

Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts - Review

Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts  The best way to spend four hours of waiting period in Dubai transit is to do shopping. Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review, Swatches

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review I began to use Neutrogena brand long back, when I was in US. The first product I bought of this brand was a liquid foundation, which was my first foundation of all. And, as expected I chose the wrong shade and had to throw it away. The second thing I bought sometime back was this Neutrogena Moistureshine LipGloss , which apparently happens to be my first tinted lipgloss too, as before this I was used to only lipsticks or lip balms. It took me a while to get used to the concept of glosses. I bought the shade 04 Glimmer: Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss Like usual glosses, it comes
