Review: Oriflame Visions V* Dynamic Duo Eyeliner

Oriflame Visions Dynamic Duo Eyeliner: Aladdin and Yasmine
I bought the shade Aladdin & Yasmin from this range a couple of months back. The sole reason for me buying this particular pencil eyeliner was the name - Aladdin & Yasmin. In fact all the eyeliners in this range have been given such cute names like Tom and Jerry, Laurel and Hardy, Jekyll & Hyde, Batman and Robin, etc.

I bought Aladdin & Yasmin Eye liner pencil for another reason of it giving these duel gorgeous shades. I am amongst the kind of people who like to play with warm colors on their eyes, and I was quite tempted to buy this particular pencil that offered gold and brown shades.

What does Oriflame say about Visions V* Dynamic Duo Eyeliner pencils?

Make this double-ended pencil eyeliner your new best friend. This color co-ordinated twosome promises mischievous lines that have no bounds, ready to tackle any shape or form.

Price:  INR 169/-

Ingredient List:

Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Talc, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Mica, Rhus Succedanea Cera, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter Extract, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid, Ci 77499, Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77891

Below are the swatches:

My experience with Aladdin & Yasmin Duo Eyeliner pencil:

Pros:

1) I love the shades it imparts to my eyes, particularly the gold one which I believe is 'Yasmine'. The 'Aladdin' part is also decently pigmented with rich brown color.

2) The texture of the pencils is extremely creamy and glides well on my lids. However, I've felt 'Yasmine' (gold) part to be smoother on my lids, than the 'Aladdin' (brown) part.

3) These liners are waterline safe, so I can use them well on my waterlines too. I particularly love to use the golden part on my waterline, when I am trying to do any smokey eyes. As I have warm undertones and somewhat smaller eyes, I feel that using stark white color on waterline would look OTT on me. The subtle gold shade gives a beautiful color and shape to my eyes and even helps in making them look bigger and more opened up.

4) Price: I think they are decently priced for the quantity you get.

5) They don't smudge much. If I rub them after sometime of application, the colors just fade away without making any messy marks.

Cons:

1) As stated before, the Aladdin (brown) part of this pencil, doesn't like my eyes much, because of which it doesn't glide as smoothly as the 'Yasmine'(gold) does.

2) The staying power is quite less. The colors just get vanished within 1-2 hours of application.

3) You need to find an Oriflame consultant to get your hands on these.

Below are the two ways, in which you can wear these liners, of course you can always complement them with other colors and play around:

My Naked Left Eye
Left Eye with Aladdin over the lid and Yasmine in the Waterline
How'd it look
Right Eye with Aladdin in the waterline and Yasmine over the lid

How'd it look!
Overall verdict: I like this pencil a lot. However, since the staying power isn't too good, I feel that if I get same shades in some other brand that have good staying power, I might not buy these again. For people who like to play with colors, they can definitely try these pencils. I have been eyeing  Tom and Jerry shade since quite a time, but it has always been out of stock since past few months.

Rating: 3/5

  19. it's not as good as maybelline or lakme e/ps. i think that's why the price is less. oriflame has always been an expensive brand.

  20. Hi bulbul! Oriflame has many sub brands that run under it. Oriflame Visions is the cheapest of all and Giordani Gold is the most expensive. The trend is similar to what we have with Loreal and maybelline. Loreal's products are somewhat expensive in India, however its child company Maybelline is quite cheap!! :)..and yeah personally I didn't like much of these visions products!!!

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review, Swatches

Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss - Review I began to use Neutrogena brand long back, when I was in US. The first product I bought of this brand was a liquid foundation, which was my first foundation of all. And, as expected I chose the wrong shade and had to throw it away. The second thing I bought sometime back was this Neutrogena Moistureshine LipGloss , which apparently happens to be my first tinted lipgloss too, as before this I was used to only lipsticks or lip balms. It took me a while to get used to the concept of glosses. I bought the shade 04 Glimmer: Neutrogena Moistureshine Gloss Like usual glosses, it comes

Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts - Review

Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts  The best way to spend four hours of waiting period in Dubai transit is to do shopping. In all the shopping I did there, I bought this particular lotion as well. The main reasons behind buying this lotion were: 1) I wanted to try Olay as a brand as I’d heard a lot of good stories about it. 2) I wanted a light moisturizing face lotion that has SPF, UVA/UVB protection and could be worn easily below my foundation for day wear. Olay Natural White Lotion With Mulberry Leaf Extracts Price: $10 Quantity: 30 ml What does Olay say about its Natural White lotion ?

Syoss Professional Performance Repair Therapy Shampoo - Review

Syoss Professional Performance Repair Therapy Shampoo During my visits to Germany, I spend a lot of time watching TV commercials, because of the only reason that I can somehow understand bits and pieces of them. I wasn't intending to buy any huge bottles, during my last trip, but I was so much intrigued by Syoss's continuous ads on the television, that I decided to give it a shot. I bought Syoss professional repair therapy shampoo from Muller mall, Germany. It has been 3 months now, since I've been using this shampoo and hence thought of reviewing it here.
