Beautiful Eyes
Hello lovelies,
Today, I thought of sharing my eye care regime with you
here. With the way these tech-gadgets have encroached around 80-90% of our wake
up time, I feel that it becomes even more important for us to pay extra
attention in taking care of our eyes. Being a software engineer, I spend around
10-12 hours almost daily on computer and by the end of the day my eyes look
like two sunken hollows. Ok! I am exaggerating, but literally at night before
going to sleep when I look at my eyes, I could see such a drastic difference
between the morning eyes and the two dull and lifeless buttons like stuffs in
the mirror, that I simply had to do something for the little babies.
Even though I keep on reading stuffs like putting potatoes
and cucumber slices on eyes to treat them well; I simply couldn't find enough
time and efforts to include all that in my daily regime. So, I had to device my
own personal care schedule that could cater to my needs and take care of my
eyes as well on a regular basis.
Below are certain "must do" things that I follow
religiously to pamper my eyes daily and give them good care, so that they come
back to there usual bright self the very next day :)
The most obvious and important thing that I do every night
is to remove the eye makeup.
I usually take an oil based cleanser on cotton, dab it on
both the eyes, close my eyes and lie down (yes you read that right, literally
lie down) for a minute or two. After that I put some drops of water on the
cotton and remove the makeup. I ensure that I remove every last bit of the
makeup, even if it requires me using 10 rounds of the same cleansing process.
For lazy souls here, and even for me when I am super tired -
I do the following:
- Take some oil (olive oil or almond cleansing oil) on my finger tips and massage it on my eyes. Don't worry about spreading of mascara, eyeshadow or eyeliner - no ghost is gonna fall in love with you in your secluded bathroom.
- Simply massage slowly and softly in circular motion around your eyes. It feels so relaxing that you'd love to do it involuntarily and won't feel bored or tired of it at all.
- Massage it well as long as you like and pour more oil if you feel like, but ensure that your second round starts only after you've wiped off the dirty oil (with makeup and all impurities) from your eyes.
- Once your massaging and relaxation process is done, wash your face and area around your eyes with a good face wash and luke warm water. Pat dry your skin (don't rub the towel upwards or downwards - just simply pat dry).
Next apply a good eye cream on your eyes and don't just
leave it like that. Make sure that the skin around your eyes absorbs the cream
so you can apply the cream using a gentle massaging treatment.
Apply your fav. face cream, chapstick and get off to sleep!!
:)
It feels like bliss literally. And I've noticed that
whenever I do this 2 min massaging activity with oil, my eyes feel more relaxed
and brightened the very next day with noticeable reduction in dark circles and
puffiness, even though I use the same eye cream every day.
Our eyes and the skin around them are the most sensitive
areas of our faces and with the kind of strain we give to them everyday, it is
our duty to pay extra care in treating them too. Apart from the above regime,
ensure you keep yourself hydrated and drink lots of water daily. And last but
not the least - get a sound sleep even if you get only 5-6 hours of sleep time every
day. :)
Products that I use for
the above steps:
- Biotique Almond oil Cleanser
- Himalaya herbals Foaming Neem Face wash
- Hollybeth natural luxury eye cream
- Makari De Suisse Beauty Whitening Milk
- Cadeavera Rose lip care
I hope my article helps you in taking better care of your
eyes and reduce the tiredness, dark circles and puffiness. And if these
problems still persist - then make a good concealer your best friend!! :)
