If you’d been my blog’s follower a month back and had gone
through my posts, I posted HERE a challenge of using Lancôme Discovery Kit for one month to see any visible results on my skin. Above is the kit and all the products that I started using from October 9th,
2011 till now.
My experience with
this kit:
I started using all the products that came with this
particular kit once every day since October 9th, 2011 and my first experience
was somewhat unbelievable and quite amazing. The first thing that I used was Lancôme
Genifique Youth Activating serum. I applied two drops of this Lancôme Genifique
Youth Activating serum all over my face, and went ahead with my regular makeup
routine. I have oily-combination skin and I usually need to do touchups on all
the oily-zones after a couple of hours. However, the day I applied this serum,
my face remained perfectly fine for whole day. I could see that it looked
brightened and shine-free, which definitely made me go "Wow!" about
this.
I continued using this serum daily for morning time,
followed by Lancôme Genifique youth activating night cream at night, Lancôme Genifiqueyouth activating eye cream for both day and night, as well as Lancôme cleansing milk and tonique douceur toner too. My skin continued to get better everyday
for the next 2 weeks.
But, as is said – “Too much of any good thing can also lead to
bad results”. After regular usage of two weeks, I began to see some
tiny bumps appearing on my forehead and nose. That made me wonder what was
going wrong with my skin, as none of my food habits had changed. My complexion
was growing better and more even everyday. My pores were getting reduced, my
dark circles were fading and I could see a definite glow on my skin; but the
tiny bumps made me worried. I could feel that somewhere my skin's balance was
going off. I immediately cut off the usage of the night cream (which I believed
was the major culprit for the breakout as I could feel it to be quite rich),
from daily to once in 2-3 days. That made my skin a bit better, but still not
without bumps. The moment one bump got cured, another one would rise.
The only thing I could do was to cut off both the serum and
night cream to just once every 4-5 days. That routine did the trick and my skin
slowly began to get back to its original smooth texture. Now, I love using the
whole kit and I can definitely see the difference it has made to my skin. The
only thing I have to ensure is that I use the Genifique youth activating serum
and night cream only once 4-5 days for my oily combination skin. I use the
serum in day time, and for night I use the night cream. The formula is quite rich and I
think that is the reason, why many people in online reviews too have complained
about getting breakouts when they tried the Lancôme Genifique range of
products.
Now, I use the Lancôme cleansing milk and Tonique Douceur
daily evening to cleanse and tone my skin. I also apply the Lancôme Genifique
Youth Activating eye cream daily to pamper my eyes, which I have reviewed HERE.
However, the Lancôme Genifique Youth Activating Serum and Night cream usage is
limited to once every 4-5 days. I usually apply it only on weekend, which gives
my skin the rich pampering it needs, without getting any overdose of good
stuffs.
My experience as stated above has been specific to my
oily-combination skin, so I don't know if it'd work fine for dry or very oily
skinned people. But, if you are my skin type, I definitely recommend you get
this kit, as I am sure it will do wonders for you the way it has done for my
skin, provided you optimize its usage well enough to suit your skin's natural
balance.

After pics (1 month usage as stated above)

I've purposefully worn the same dress, and tried to make the same pose and have taken the pic with same flash lighting for you to notice the difference in my skin better.
